The launch of “Valley Up!” is a five-year strategic plan that is also introducing the Centennial Giving Challenge, was launched in August 2025, which is a fundraising competition among employees to support student scholarships and programs. It marked a memorial moment at SBVC and to welcome anyone and everyone with the desire for education to learn. To attend San Bernardino Valley College and become a Wolverine is the plan.

SBVC is a college for all of those who live in the community of San Bernardino County. With its rich history, SBVC recently just celebrated its 100th year-anniversary with a festive Centennial Opening Ceremony and procession during Opening Day. It was an immersive sensory experience that involved the excitement of the city and students to share, with such powerful emotions inside the school.
The 15th President of San Bernardino Valley College, Doctor Gilbert J. Contreras, spoke in such caring words. His words were strong and deep, really being able to hear the emotion of gratitude in his voice as he spoke into the mic. In his speech he says, “As we celebrate our centennial, it is worth remembering and sharing with the world that San Bernardino Valley College is the model for the vision and promise of a community college education.” With the centennial celebration, SBVC launching the announcement of its Valley Up!

This is creating the vision as Valley College enters its second century.

"Valley Up!" has now been the affirmation of SBVC’s growth, progress, and pride, symbolizing an unstoppable upward trajectory for the college.
