SBVC Successful Enrollment Lab Helps Students Get Ready for Fall 2025

By Ana Saracho Castanon

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Valley held a Successful Enrollment Lab in the San Bernardino Valley College Assessment Center (ADSS-101) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event was part of a series hosted by Student Services to help students prepare for Fall 2025 registration and understand the enrollment process.

I was welcomed by friendly counselors and staff members who were prepared to address all my questions regarding financial aid, educational plans, and enrollment. Students were receiving one-on-one assistance while seated in a quiet yet busy environment. While some staff members assisted with class registration and creating first-semester education goals, others helped students with their FAFSA and Dream Act applications.

A lot of students appeared relieved by getting practical help rather than attempting to solve everything online, I noted. The availability of counselors from Specialized Programs, Financial Aid, and Admissions and Records made the process much easier for everyone. I even had the opportunity to inquire about financial aid disbursements and check my personal schedule for the next semester. I was even able to take the placement test after reviewing my education plan, which helped me determine which English and math subjects I should enroll in.

Overall, the event was very organized and helpful. It made me realize how much SBVC truly supports its students and wants them to succeed. I would highly recommend other students attend a Successful Enrollment Lab in the future especially if they’re new to the college or unsure about how to register for classes. It’s free, welcoming, and a great way to make sure you’re fully prepared before the semester starts.
